A total of 50 students from semesters 3, 4, and 5 of the DKM, DTP, and DJL programs took part in the “IR4.0 Nexus: Integrating Logic, Power, and People” program held at Politeknik Seberang Perai (PSP).

This initiative, jointly organized by lecturers of the Engineering and Society (DJJ30332/DJJ40132) and Pneumatic and Hydraulic (DJJ40153) courses in collaboration with the IEEP Unit of the Department of Mechanical Engineering (JKM), aimed to provide students with valuable insights into Industry 4.0 transformation in the engineering field and its relevance to their academic studies.

The program significantly enhanced students’ knowledge, awareness, and motivation in understanding their roles within the IR4.0 ecosystem. It also encouraged strategic and innovative thinking, empowering participants to lead the way toward a smarter and more sustainable future.

Held simultaneously at two venues — Dewan Kuliah Mekanikal and the TECC Room — from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the event featured two engaging sessions.
At the TECC Room, Mr. Norhisyam bin Salleh from Rencom Engineering Sdn. Bhd., Batu Kawan, Penang, delivered an informative talk on Pneumatics and Hydraulics, sharing practical insights from the industry.

Meanwhile, at Dewan Kuliah Mekanikal, students attended a professional sharing session by Dr. Muhammad Najib bin Abdul Hamid, Deputy Dean (Academic & Technology), and Ir. Ts. Dr. Tajul Adli bin Abdul Razak from the Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MSI). Their session focused on the role of professional bodies and their relevance to the Engineering and Society course.

The IR4.0 Nexus program successfully bridged academic learning with real-world applications, equipping PSP students with forward-thinking perspectives that align with the nation’s technological advancement goals.
