Polytechnic Seberang Perai (PSP) was established on 1st September 1998 at Jalan Permatang Pauh, Pulau Pinang.

The campus is built on a 100-acre site and is located in a rapidly growing industrial area. It takes approximately 30 minutes to reach PSP from George Town, Pulau Pinang.

PSP is the 10th polytechnic established in Malaysia, in line with the government’s policy to produce semi-professional workers to support the Malaysia Vision 2020.

The institution was officially launched on 27 November 1999 by the 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
